14/09/2009 - Jack Lubke comes runner up in the West Midlands Championships

The West Midlands Regional closed championships were held on the 5th – 6th September at the Munrow centre at Birmingham University.
The competition was between the counties of Shropshire, Staffordshire Warwickshire and Worcestershire.

Worcester was represented in all categories from U13’s to U17’s in both boys and girls.

Playing in the boys U13’s we had Tom Lubke, Sam Witton and Jack Dukes, all of them playing well, with Jack finishing in the highest place  at No 4 with Sam No 5 and Tom No 6.

In the Girls U13’s, sadly it was not very well supported with only 3 entering. Worcester had Harriet and Olivia Hill and they had to play each other in the 1st match. It was a close game Harriet going two games up, but Olivia pressed hard and won the 3rd but then lost in the end 3-1. In their others games, their opponents proved too strong for both of them losing 3-0 to the Warwickshire girl. A positive thing is that we have more U13’s girls then Warwickshire!!!

In the boys U15’s this is where we had our best result of the weekend with Jack Lubke finishing runner up. His second game proved to be the toughest against Harley Flood where he lost the first game with too many drop shots hitting the tin. However, playing a little more safe and with less errors he came through to win 3-1. His only loss that weekend was to the winner, so a big well done to Jack.

In the Girls U15’s and because of a small entry the U17’s were joined together with the U15’s. Elizabeth Parkes was our only player. Her first match was against Roxanna Kershavarz ,and was a  hard fought match .All the game scores could have gone either way ,but she narrowly lost out 3-1. She won all her other games and finished in 5th place.

The last category was boys U17’s with Matt Jones playing. He had some extremely tough matches and although looking a little nervous in some matches, he gave 100%.

Overall a good effort from everyone, so keep the training up and don’t forget to enter next year!
It would be nice if we can increase our entries from Worcester in 2010 competitions so please keep a look out on England Squash and Racketball web site or our own for forthcoming events.

16/11/2008 - Webhost switches site off!

What a week I'm having. First of all I get told that my back injury could take 6 weeks to get better, then our team were slightly outplayed by Stourport 4 on Wednesday night. Can it get any worse I kept asking myself - and then it did.

My lovely web host sent me an email out of the blue on Thursday, saying that my sites were over using their server and I had 7 days to either pay substantually more money or have my sites removed. After many emails and arguing, I've had to move this site and lots of others just to keep them up and running. This will

At this time it's hosted on a temporary server which might be a bit slower than normal. When finances allow, I'll move it to a faster server and a better database.

10/10/2008 - Results are now being added

Results are now being added to the leagues and some player stats are available
Obviously they don't mean much yet, but at least it gives me some pleasure to see that my system actually works and also lets me iron out the faults that couldn't be tested without live scores!

If you have results that haven't been added yet then email them to me -
I will need the following to add them correctly

String - Home Player - Away Player - Game 1 score - Game 2 Score - Game 3 Score - Game 4 Score - Game 5 Score

8/9/2008 - Website Released in preparation for the 2008/09 season

I have now completed the basic setup of the site.
This included
1 - Imported all leagues, teams and fixtures
2 - Designed all league results and stats in the leagues section
3 - Listed all contacts that I can find under the contact section
4 - Created an Admin section where teams can add players and results for their own team (Login Required)
5 - Created login for Admin users (Myself, Clive and possibly others) to update any fixture

One thing to bear in mind is that any results which are currently displayed are there for testing purposes only
When the site is working only true scores and stats will be available

ALL comments will be noted and actioned.
If I have messed up someone's name, contact details or you spot an error that I haven't then drop me an email to and I'll get it fixed.

I still need more content for the site. If a section is empty then I haven't got any info - if you've got some information then let me have it and I'll add it as soon as I can.
I will need lists of players from each team too so that I can remove the incorrect ones from the tables.
